I know, I'm a total slacker. Every time I've sat down to write a post, I get all discouraged and don't finish.
I'm coming up on my 1 year runiversary and I feel like I've come so far in just a year. I have run 3 official 5ks, beating my first time by 4 minutes in just 3 months. I've run 2 Ragnar Relays. I've been able to run for 2 hours straight, which I learned I don't really enjoy :-) I also got a gym membership and have actually been going. I added in weights and I love them! I've always loved lifting weights. I was one of the only girls in the Weight lifting class with all the football players in high school. If only I was as dedicated back then.
I turned 30 this year and I had many friends not happy about it. For me, I was thrilled! It felt like a new adventure in my life! I've started caring about my health and how I feel. I have 4 beautiful children who can't seem to stop growing and getting older. Ryan has a job he loves. We still don't have that house he wants, but I'm sure someday we will get it. I have even made strides in my mental health. I'm sure it's all the exercise, but I am easily drawn to depression but this year I've been able to get myself out of it a lot faster! I've had a lot of things go on, but I'm beginning to feel like a new person. I even clean now. If you know me, you know that is a miracle. I've also learned to be ok with how my body looks. I still want to lose weight but I know now that it doesn't just happen over night. It's been a year and I've lost 8lbs, 6 inches off my body, and my energy level is higher than it's ever been.
It's kind of nice to be to the point where I know if I mess up today, it doesn't have to affect my attitude tomorrow.
